MCRU audiophile grade mains extension blocks are assembled and tested in our workshops and only feature the best available components built to a standard not to a price.
Now sold with silver plated internal contact strips.
We treat the contact strips inside the blocks with de-oxit contact cleaner to remove surface contaminants from the metal surface, we then send the rails to be plated, we dis-able the on-off switch and light as they can have a detrimental affect on sound quality. The blocks themselves are heavy duty aluminium lined for strength and rigidity, they are manufactured in Germany to exacting standards and we offer them with 4, 6 or 8 sockets to suit your system’s requirements.
All our mains blocks are supplied with 2 metres of cable attached, extra cable can be added using the menu add extra cable, the cable itself is again manufactured in Germany and uses 3 cores of 2.5mm thick oxygen free copper with a tinned copper braiding which acts as a ground loop to keep mains interferance away from your equipment. We have sold 100’s of metres of this cable and it is a superb performer for both extension blocks and power leads.
The cable is terminated with our silver plated MK mains plug fitted with a 13 amp silver plated fuse, the plug has been specially chosen from all the currently available UK plugs as it accepts thick cables with no modifications necessary, the quality of our plating is second to none, carried out by a company with 50 years experience in this field. There is no better mains extension block on the market that will provide a good performance at such a good price.

Audiophile silver plated mains block
Thanks for this excellent, value-for-money upgrade.
More of the source recording getting through – dynamics, attack, tone quality, recording acoustic and musicians’ input. Altogether a more involving musical experience.
Especially suited to warm or rich sounding systems. (Bright systems might be better matched with Rhodium version)
regards,
David Clewlow

“Great product”
“This was bought to replace a standard 4 gang extension and I wish I had bought it a long time ago! For the price it’s a steal, offering more openness and clarity in particular but everything seemed to go up a notch in terms of performance, dynamics, space, better transients….really good and I’m really pleased!”

For context this review is for a mains treatment solution for a modem & router in a hallway that is linked via ethernet cable to my AV system in a lounge with its own existing mains treatment. I didn’t assess each part of the solution separately for effectiveness but I strongly suspect they all provided an advantage.
My previous audiophile mains extension (without filter) was upgraded to the MCRU Silver Plated Mains Extension Block (which is really well made and solid). A new filter is plugged into this mains extension and I introduced audiophile power supplies for both the modem and router
The Sky Stream TV picture quality is now even better with more definition, lovely deep colours & it is much more 3 dimensional. The sound quality is better too being more dynamic and much closer to Bluray quality. This was especially noticed on a 5.1 Netflix film.
Yes, the overall solution cost a bit of money but I wouldn’t want to go back.
